US Open Tennis Championship 2010

The United States Open Championship is an annual tennis event held at Flushing Meadows, New York for two weeks at the end of August and beginning of September. This year’s event begins on August 30, 2010. It offers the largest prize money of any of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments. Players from around the world gather to compete over a total of $19 million dollars in prize money, including a one million dollar prize for first place in men's or women's singles. The competitions include men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

New York City Marathon

30,000 runners from every corner of the globe compete in this 26.2 mile marathon that starts in Staten Island and runs through all five boroughs before reaching the finish line in Central Park. More than two million cheering spectators line the route. First Ave above 60th St or Central Park's East Drive are favorite viewing locations for this first Sunday in November, world's largest marathon.
